Michelle is available to present to the following workshops on Technology and the Gifted. Workshops can be offered as afternoon study groups (3 2-hour sessions) or as a full day class.
Using Technology in the Elementary Grades to Increase Creativity and Critical Thinking – This workshop will explore ways to encourage creativity and critical thinking through web based technologies. Primary grade teachers will return to their classroom with ideas for using technology to excite, motivate and deepen learning in their elementary school classrooms. Participants will gain exposure to web based technologies including: VoiceThread, Animoto, Museum Box, Glogster, Issuu, and more.
Technology, Learning Styles, and the Elementary Classroom – Technology can provide opportunities to differentiate for a variety of learning styles in the regular classroom. The internet offers new opportunities to create rich technology-based environments where students experience new and challenging things. Technology can connect us with people around the world who offer different perspectives and experiences. These opportunities will result in many types of learning. This workshop will explore ways to encourage writing and critical thinking through web based technologies. Teachers will return to their classroom with ideas for using technology to excite, motivate and deepen learning in their elementary school classrooms. Participants will gain exposure to web based technologies including: VoiceThread, Animoto, Museum Box, Glogster, Issuu, and more.
Using Technology to Enhance Project Based Learning Activities. This workshop will explore ways to enable gifted and talented students to develop 21st century skills while through Autonomous Learner Projects, Independent Studies, Type 3 Enrichment Projects and more. Participants will gain exposure to web based technologies including: VoiceThread, Animoto, Museum Box, Glogster, Issuu, and more.
